展現臺灣經驗3.0 共同教育中心與台灣發展研究學會合辦全球永續發展國際論壇

    (本校訊)為開啟跨領域永續發展研究大門,國立臺灣海洋大學共同教育中心與台灣發展研究學會合作,於4月23日至24日共同主辦「全球永續發展、臺灣經驗與在地社會責任國際論壇」。許泰文校長也特地準備書面賀詞,並表示,在面對全球永續發展的挑戰,臺灣不論是在社會改革、人權議題、防控新冠肺炎疫情、綠能建設、海洋科技、氣候變遷及實踐大學社會責任等領域,都有讓全世界刮目相看的傑出成果,如此多元化經驗與豐碩成果,是「臺灣經驗3.0」的展現。海大擁有研究「臺灣經驗3.0」所需的跨領域豐沛研究人才,特色研究及國際學術合作更是本校校務發展重點。期許本次國際論壇能成為跨領域跨單位及跨國合作的新典範,為永續發展的跨域研究開啟新里程碑!

    開幕式由李明安副校長主持,並宣讀許校長賀詞,莊季高副校長也蒞臨會場歡迎國內外學者。此次國際論壇有來自日本、印尼、中華民國等28位學者專家與會,日本早稻田大學Keiichi Kubo教授、及印尼艾爾朗加大學Vinsensio Dugis教授發表專題演講,與會學者們發表18篇研究論文,共同回顧、分析及前瞻全球永續發展趨勢下的臺灣發展經驗及啟示。

    李明安副校長表示,本校刻正積極拓展國際合作計畫,與台灣發展研究學會合作辦理國際論壇,邀請兩位外國學者蒞校發表專題演講,日本與印尼是海大跨國研究的重要場域,期許未來有更多的合作與交流。身兼台灣發展研究學會理事長的台大特聘教授簡旭伸表示,很榮幸與國立臺灣海洋大學合作主辦國際論壇,從跨領域的視野結合海洋研究特色,推動對臺灣發展經驗的研究。希望未來有更多的合作機會,建立跨領域的研究團隊與社會網絡,持續為臺灣永續發展貢獻心力。

    本次國際論壇與會學者專家們在23日特別至本校大學社會責任(USR)實踐計畫的八斗子場域進行考察與體驗。由八斗子產業觀光促進會藍麗齡理事長親自接待與導覽,進行海水薯榔染布體驗及八斗子漁村微旅行活動。使與會學者專家們對八斗子場域發展及本校大學社會責任(USR)實踐計畫成果留下深刻美好的印象。

     24日由來自中央研究院、國立臺灣大學、國立政治大學、內政部警政署、中華經濟研究院、國家實驗研究院科技政策研究與資訊中心、國立暨南國際大學、元智大學、東海大學、淡江大學、弘光科技大學及本校的學者專家們,從「科技X政策」、「全球X在地」、「市場 X治理」、「族群 X 教育」及「Development Studies Workshop」等主題發表研究論文,全天的國際論壇論述臺灣與亞太發展經驗及海大教學實踐的研究成果。現場國內外學者們討論熱烈,相互激盪出許多新的研究靈感及前瞻議題。

    許泰文校長也在書面賀詞中感謝簡旭伸理事長、謝玉玲中心主任、曾聖文校長特助的聯繫協調。並感謝共同教育中心、社會實踐辦公室、教務處教學中心、八斗子產業觀光促進會等單位同仁的合作與辛勞,共同成就此次國際論壇。共同教育中心謝玉玲中心主任表示,本中心致力推動國際化與跨領域教學實踐,此次能有機會與台灣發展研究學會共同辦理國際論壇,實踐推動國際化之具體行動。未來將積極配合校務發展,強化教學與研究的國際合作能量!

Demonstrating the Power of Taiwan’s Experience 3.0: NTOU General Education Center and Taiwanese Association for Development Studies Jointly Hold the Global Sustainable Development International Forum

To open the door to interdisciplinary research for sustainable development, the National Taiwan Ocean University’s General Education Center (GEC) and the Taiwanese Association for Development Studies (TADS) co-hosted the “2021 Global Sustainable Development, Taiwan's Experience, and Local Social Responsibility International Forum” from April 23rd to 24th, 2021. President Hsu Tai-Wen of National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) prepared a written congratulatory message, in which he noted that in the face of challenges in global sustainable development, Taiwan has been a role model that has caught the world’s attention, whether in social reform, human rights issues, its effective prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, green energy construction, marine technology, its efforts in combating climate change, as well as in the practice of University Social Responsibility (USR). He shared that these multi-faceted achievements across so many fields are an exemplary demonstration of “Taiwan Experience 3.0”, and NTOU has abundant research talents across discipline required to implement this “Taiwan Experience 3.0”. Specialized research and international academic cooperation are the key focus of the school’s development so it is hoped that this international forum will become a new model of cross-discipline, cross-unit and cross-border cooperation, and set a new milestone of interdisciplinary research for sustainable development!

The opening ceremony was presided over by NTOU Vice President Lee Ming-An, after which the congratulatory speech by President Tai-Wen Hsu was delivered. Vice President Juang Jih-Gau also visited to the venue to welcome all participants. 28 scholars and experts from Japan, Indonesia, and Taiwan attended the international forum. Professor Keiichi Kubo from Waseda University in Japan and Professor Vinsensio Dugis from the Airlangga University in Indonesia delivered keynote addresses. The participating scholars presented 18 research papers during the forum, which reviewed, analyzed and foresaw Taiwan's development experience and insights under the global trends of sustainable development.

During his speech, Vice President Lee Ming-An stated that the NTOU is actively expanding its international cooperation, and collaborated closely with the TADS to organize this international forum, including inviting two foreign scholars to visit the university to deliver keynote addresses. He further noted that Japan and Indonesia are important fields for NTOU’s transnational research, and hoped that there will be more collaboration and exchanges in the future. Dr. Chien Shiuh-Shen, a distinguished professor of National Taiwan University who is also the chairman of the TADS, remarked that it was an honor to collaborate with NTOU to host an international forum that shines a spotlight on Taiwan’s development experience from a cross-disciplinary perspective while combining the characteristics of marine research. He further hoped that there will be more opportunities for collaboration in the future to establish interdisciplinary research teams and social networks, and continue to contribute to the sustainable development of Taiwan.

On the 23rd, the visiting scholars and experts visited and experienced Badouzi fishing village, which is the site of one of NTOU’s USR Projects. Lan Liling, Chairwoman of the Badouzi Tourism Industry Promotion Association, received and guided the tour, and invited participants to try the Shoulang Yam Seawater fabric-dyeing experience as well as a micro-tour of the Badouzi Fishing Village. The participating scholars and experts left with a deep and memorable impression on the development of the Badouzi fishing village and the fruitful achievements of NTOU’s USR project.

On the 24th, scholars from the Academia Sinica, National Taiwan University, National Chengchi University, the National Police Agency of the Ministry of the Interior, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research, the Science & Technology Policy Research and Information Center, National Chi Nan University, Yuan Ze University, Tunghai University, Tamkang University, Hungkuang University, and NTOU presented research papers on topics such as “Technology X Policy”, “Global X Local”, “Market X Governance”, “Ethnicity X Education” and “Development Studies Workshop” in an all-day international forum discussing the development experience of Taiwan and the Asian-Pacific region and the research results of NTOU’s teaching practices. Local and foreign scholars engaged in enthusiastic discussions and stirred up many new research inspirations and forward-looking topics.

In his written congratulatory message, President Hsu Tai-Wen also expressed his gratitude to Chairman Chien Shiuh-Shen, Director Hsieh Yu-ling of NTOU’s GEC, and his executive assistant Tseng Sheng-Wen for their coordination work. He also thanked colleagues from the NTOU GEC, the NTOU Outreach Office, the NTOU Academic Affairs Office (Center for Teaching and Learning), and the Badouzi Industry Tourism Promotion Association as well as other organizations for their excellent work in making the international forum such as resounding success. Director Hsieh Yu-ling remarked that the NTOU GEC is committed to promoting internationalization and cross-domain teaching practices. She expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to co-organize an international forum with the TADS, and to put into practice actions that promote internationalization. In the future, the NTOU GEC will continue to actively cooperate with the development of school affairs and strengthen the momentum of international collaboration in teaching and research!
